A new house on a slope running down to the Water of Leith in Dean Village, Edinburgh. Steepness and restricted access make construction work challenging. The project has been through a series of design iterations exploring the complexities of the site and working towards an architecture which does justice to the unique location while protecting and enhancing the qualities of its ancient surroundings.
